I have another combat recap. This is a bit of a one-trick pony, as I just wanted to point out one main detail.


Space Combat
Chain of Dogs Level: 32 Hull Points: 810
Weapons: 3,627 Defense: 151 Engines: 2,510
Max. Damage: 2,537
vs.
XXX Level: 30 Hull Points: 900
Weapons: 2,360 Defense: 1,094 Engines: 1,850
Max. Damage: 2,211

Both of us are rogues. I have better stats, but we both can easily kill each other.

Bridgeburners superior engines bonus: +65 Hull Points.

SUCCEED: Surprise Attack! (Chance: 89%)
First attack damage bonus: + 5! (Maximum Possible: 145)
Target's Weapons Malfunction Chance increased by 16% to 13%!

Nice engine bonuses for me. Note that my opponent had a -3 malfunction before the battle started. This is a good strategy for a rogue, as there are some items that can increase your opponent's malfunction rate, and all malfunction is bad for a rogue.

Well, that was easy (tm).

The key to this battle is that my opponent has spent a fair amount of research on shields, but not as much on engines. If half of the 1000 points of shields had been moved to engines, I would have likely lost this battle.
